You somehow missed the entire point of my post. The really good companies hardly ever , if not never advertise for help. They let their drivers know they are looking to hire some more help , and those drivers suggest folks that they know would make good employees. That has been going on for longer than I assume you've been around.

Why not...the info placed on the side of a semi isn't private , personal info....it's an advertisement in itself...wow :smt102:smt017 ....not against any law / ordinance to write down an advertisement for future reference....

You seem to have acquired alot of misinformation about this industry in a short time span....

Hi Tony, that's true, however, here's a sign of the times. I get a lot of pop up ads no matter where I go on the internet, (Big Brother watching me?) and the other day, an ad came up for UPS looking for tractor-trailer drivers in the Louisville area. Union benefits, $30.00/hr. to start. NEVER in my entire life as a truck driver have I seen UPS advertise for a T/T driver. What driver shortage?

Pay Per Click (PPC) ads use Googles search engine to direct a forums membership roster to particular websites that match a search. It's based on what you put in that Google search bar, and what you talk about in a forum. If you spend a lot of time bashing megas, you'll get ads from them. If you browse a lot of trucking related sites, that is what PPC will put in those advertising banners.

    To address your other point:

Baby boomers are retiring left and right and dropping like flies. I think that for the next few years you'll see Union companies start to advertise more and maybe even lower their standards until their runs are filled. When they have enough 'regulars', things will return back to 'normal'.
