You used to see lots of big fancy rides running up and down the road, not so much anymore. I like seeing them, even the ones that aren’t to my taste.
Midwest Trucker, TripleSix, wore out and 11 others Thank this. -
Alot of the guys running reefer in stretched trucks from Florida to the NE are running dedicated routes for their own customers. No general otr BS. I would love to drive one. Always heard how well they ride. When you run the same road year after year and have your costs figured ain't nothing wrong with having some pride in your ride.
God prefers Diesels, Gsm, jason6541 and 8 others Thank this. -
We'll just to be clear I'm not a hater.
I'm not knocking the guy's truck he can do whatever he wants to do with it my question just was why.
I'm definitely a function over form kind of a guy so things that are ridiculously not practical it just kind of piques my curiosity as to why.
How about if you put a 453 Detroit in your giant Peterbilt?
I mean how cool would that be to see that little teeny tiny engine in there and you can turbo charge it and intercool it and paint it and chrome it and it'll be the wildest thing you've ever seen.
The noise, everybody will come to you from all around wow what do you have in that truck I never saw anything like that Isn't that cool...
As the guy goes down a flat Road at 3 miles an hour.
I would not knock the guy but function certainly has its place over form.bzinger, gentleroger, feldsforever and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'll tell you what. I just backed into this crazy tight place.
My first instinct is to be thankful because my truck is sooo maneuverable for a big giant truck it's incredible what I can do with it.
But I guess According to some of you Fellers I should just say well I can't wait for the day I can't get in anywhere I'll just sit there and look at all my chicken lights and I think about all the money I blew to make my truck completely not maneuverable...
Hmmm... now there's some good logic... What do you think, Spock?
feldsforever Thanks this. -

And believe me, if I met one of these guys with one of these obnoxious ginormous and unmaneuverable impractical things, I would never disrespect the guy. He did a lot of work to make his truck look like that.
I would be curious about the mechanical aspects of it and what do you do if you can't get into this place or that kind of place that would be more the conversation I would have.
In the words of one of the great philosophers...
bzinger, feldsforever, ProfessionalNoticer and 2 others Thank this. -
Maybe that's his situation.
That changes it from being impractical to being reasonable.
I could get on board with that.sealevel Thanks this. -
