Safety won't give a ######, they spend more money training a soldier than they do an "uneducated unskilled laborer" such as a truck driver

It's ALL about cutting cost even if you have to kill somebody to do it. Think of this those reefer units are always kept in top condition so there is no revenue lost on damaged product, but they will find ways to get out of paying for problems with the truck.

I've seen o/o that do the same thing. I don't, my truck idles about 5 minutes for warmup and cools down in about 2 minutes when the pyro gets down to 350 or so, year round regardless of outside temps. But who cares really? The thing that gripes me the most is those of you drivers out there that take it upon yourselves to preach to others about idling. Please find something productive to do with your time or at least find something else to complain about. There are company policies in place to take care of that for company drivers, and financial incentives for o/o, not to mention restrictive laws. I remember when I was in a company truck fueling up about 2 years ago. The starter was out and I had to leave it running that whole week. A Smith Transport driver takes it upon himself to chew me out for leaving it running. I told to kiss my *** and mind his own business. :biggrin_25516:

If trucking compamies don't want us to idle to supply power to your home. They must supply a different form of power supply. must trucks have a power packs on back to supply power. We went camping not to long a go. Setting up next to us. These camper had a generator made by honda. I was thanging it was going to keep me up, with that running. WE had a tent. That night, That thang must be the quitest generator in the world. Now that the world is able to make such a quit generator for camping, why not trucking. If the pollution is the problem the world has somethang for that. Just for a example petebilt has a hybrid 386. This system improves fuel efficiency and lowers emission by powering the heater and air conditioning and the trucks electrical systems while the engine is off. when the idle reduction mode is active , the engine running is limted to battery charging only. It take about 5 min. to charge the battery.I just don't know why the trucking compamies make trucker sufer with no idle, With all new ways of powering up. As for me. I'm not camping. I'm a truck driver, The companies said drive that truck. I drive that truck. It is not my fault as a truck drive to freeze or melt because of no idle.If they don't want trucks to idle. They as the truck company that told me to drive that truck. Should supply a different power supply or just shut up let me do my job!!!!!!
