Was there ever an administration change in the modern era that with their new policies had any visible impact on the economy at all, in particular the transportation segment? Perhaps NAFTA. Perhaps, the tariff war was hard for the transportation and ports.
Surprisingly, it was in the Obama years when many new trucking companies did good. But before then there was a lot of those that were doing good too. I don't believe that the pre-election time is of any significance as to whether start something or not. No matter who is at the office, the trucks will pick up and deliver the same way and rates are critically low and historically high at least twice during any administration tenure.

I think the point of what I'm trying to say is that especially if you're someone that has a good job, if you are sitting on the sidelines saying is this a good time to get in... absolutely not.

If you are someone that reads through these threads and says oh my God I can get rich let me go by a truck! Wrong time.

By the time you go find a truck get a truck pay for everything you have to pay for and realize how much overhead you actually have, by that time it may crash.

Now if you really really really have a ton of money and everything is paid for your truck or trailer your gear you can pay your insurance in advance and you have gobs and gobs and gobs of money in the bank, I guess if you want to do it now you could.

But as far as the actual best time, I don't think now is the best time, no.

And that's the best advices me gives- you use brainses and get knowledges for successfuls...

And always try to present yourself as a professional, because otherwise you sound like a moron.

Of everything, that's probably the best advices I can give ;)

I agree if we're talking about those who want to do it on a whim. I believe that a given market situation in any business there should not be a barrier to advance from a naturally matured apprenticeship to owning the very shop...to put on hold the idea, the plan, the dream. Let others sink and despair that they can't put up with 1.25 per mile for 15 months. Sooner or later the rates will come back and then again will fade

As soon as the rates $1.5 are commonplace, the rest areas and parking lots will become pretty vacated too. New trucks at discounted prices...etc.
With a blink of an eye...

I want to sell my older Cascadia. But it's such a good truck. I've kept up with it, and it has lot's of new parts.

Not pressured for money, and it only costs a few hundred to keep it driver ready, or the other one same thing, so just wait and see if the right person comes along.

I think it would sell in days if I put it on truck paper or something.

There’s a young broad with all of two years trucking experience who has been giving her “expert” advice since day one. The fact that she has a drone and can edit video seems to be the foundation of her credibility.

Her latest video? Oops, I just accidentally drove 2,000 miles with an empty trailer. LOL
