CB's are almost a thing of the past here north of the border, ever since the rules were loosened and we could run VHF radios. Far superior range and clarity.
Why own and USE a cb?

Mine is always on, I’ll give bear reports be nice to get some now again. I’m kinda of never know who’s listening guy so I’m careful bout calling someone out specifically. You’re way more apt to get a response outta me with ol Pete or flat top you got it on than cow wagon or cow truck. Hard as it sounds usually when they holler for the bull truck or bull hauler they have nothing intelligent to say.
If I meet a guy I know really well I’ll say hello and very little else. Most times I flash my marker lights at him as a ain’t seen nothing to report be safe out on the trail. Doesn’t bother me a bit for fellas to converse or stir up a little radio fight etc. I just like to be careful bout what I say as to not bring trouble to my house or yours. I assure you if I got a light out or a mud flap gone I know it. Please don’t advertise it on the #### radio. Not something I’m crazy bout the world at large hearingHigh Stepper and Diesel Dave Thank this. -

I think you're worrying over nothing, most CB radios in today's trucks, can't hardly talk 2 miles. Let alone to the world at large. Ha.

I must be honest. It was not a big challenge to me to stop drinking Bud Light. I've never had one in my life. In general I'm one cheap sob but I insist on premium beerHigh Stepper, Diesel Dave and NH Guy Thank this.

VHF has pretty much been the dominate radio here for about 20 or so years.
The only CB I've ever actually seen was in an auction I was at recently and it went for like $5 bundled in with antennas and a bunch of other items. No real point in having one if nobody else is using one either. -
It changes by region, and industry segment it seems. When I lived in the big city hauling around gravel, all of the gravel pits expected trucks to have a working CB radio for coms between trucks and equipment operators, so that's what we had to use. And that's what we'd use between trucks to arrange staging and whatnot also on job sites.
Then myself and my dump truck moved rural to escape the hell that is every large Canadian city, and I quickly realized CB doesn't exist here! I was living for many years behind the times, not really realizing our industry had moved ahead here. Behold, my new $1,000 ICOM radio (includes install, antenna, and taxes)!
Now, I'm fully tuned in!
