Philly is no different than any other city, the traffic sucks here more than some but getting around once in city limits is not as bad as people make it out to be.
Why Pennsylvania?

Steak and Cheese capital!

Well doesn't that make me feel special! Back in Colonial days PA was known as a Keystone for political as well as logistical reasons, and today the logistical reasons continue. Somewhere I read what huge percentage of the total nation's population was within a days drive of the Cumberland Valley.

Just stay away from Pat's or Genos...

I think the easier way to say that is cheesesteak.
Anyway, I used to dread going to PA but now I don't mind it.

I've lived all over the state of Pennsylvania and it's like 3 different states in one. As a whole, the gun laws are very good but the taxes are bad. When you break it down into segments you have the Pittsburgh/Erie region, the Philly/Allentown region, and the woods. All are drastically different. Some of the eastern zip codes are the wealthiest in the country and the northern are some of the poorest. Everything from the culture to the weather varies drastically by area. Erie gets 10 feet of snow per year whereas I average 10 inches where I live.
Pa freight generally pays well within the region. The couple of o/o's I know love to put together LTL loads into the northeast out of Pa because of the diversity of freight within the state. It ranges from lumber, to steel, to high tech stuff. On top of that it is one of the most populous states in the country and is in general an important state politically and economically.
Hope that helps a little..double_r Thanks this. -
Ah, what now?

Wuss. Might as well not even drive lol.bluerider and joseph1135 Thank this.

We haul a lot of those combined LTL shipments for Protrans International out of York, PA. Hauls to El Paso or Laredo. If we deliver within a 200 mile radius of York, chances are we will pick one of their loads up. Drop and hook account to top it off.
