Depends on dispatch service. I’m a dispatcher but I’m an employee at the end of the day for a carrier that has only owner operators- I don’t think I would ever be a dispatch service.

Here is the thing about a dispatcher - he is suppose to load plan and coordinate a truck to maximize profits; not advertise how he will take care of your paper work etc.

Most dispatch services I seen just really wanna leech off truckers, and don’t provide any value. Anyone starting their own MC that doesn’t know how to keep their truck rolling for money should do two things; learn, or hire your OWN dispatcher. Have an employee and add trucks to grow your fleet.

If your plan is to be an IC by yourself, you should really know how to get your own loads because depending on a dispatch service is not being on your own IMO. You just added another hand in your money.

I’ve heard off dispatch services chargin 5-10%. What sense does that make being on your own?
