9 speed and or add in a 13 speed is my favorite. Gear 6 was a little tiny bit difficult to grab for me on a 10 speed , no big deal but a 9/13 is like butter shifts like a feather.

    PITA?

Have you seen the youtubers who remove their switch and add another stick to the auxiliary box?

I agree on the 13 speed being the best after driving a pre emissions fresh Detroit with a 10 speed always at 80 K.

Too big of a drop between 10 and 9 and 8th to maintain your speed if your climbing.

Wouldn't touch a modern truck without an 18 speed. Old school, I'll settle for a 15.

I see where your coming from, most of my trucking life(41 yrs and counting) have driving 13 spds, one day when my truck was getting work done, I borrowed a truck with a 15 speed(similar pattern like a but with 10 overdrive) and I would get lost a few times, but I never jammed it in gear, when I felt it wouldn’t go in, that’s when I realized it was a different box.
