    Gee, rough gig. :biggrin_25525:
Scored high in trip-planning, --- no doubt.
I wonder how long he'll work there before he moves back into mommy & daddy's basement? :biggrin_25524: :biggrin_2559:

Thanks to all for the honest remarks. Still talking things over with the Mrs. Had her almost 32 years and found it's best to atleast ask...

I must say that I enjoy reading the posts here, have a few friends and neighbors who drive (mostly local as they have paid their dues). Lots of coal hauling in these parts but very hard to get a seat. Not sure that is for me.

I'll continue to check this post and others on this site as I work thru this and I'd have to agree trucking is a lifestyle not just a career.

I was amazed at some of the stories of newbies wanting the moon but I saw that in my past career. Some didn't think coming to work everyday was necessary and others refused to work any OT. Never turned down the OT but proabaly worked more than I should have when the kids where little. The old company wants to use temps and all news kids now, guess us older hands made too much money. So be it, I've never been afraid to roll up my sleves and get to work. Been working since I was 15.

Again, Thanks to all, if it all works out I may see you on the road some day.

    Drive Safe...

don't forget that there is a good majority of drivers that just go from one company to another.

Figured you had to from western PA, papap. That's what my grandkids call me. They're in Irwin. Was just out there to see them in December.
Anyway, we'd be glad to have you on the road. Come and join the fun.

One guy wrote saying that the government pays the companies to keep people busy training them.

Aftershock has real good grip on this stuff, I agree with his statement to aim high, thats what i did, I read about the companys that were very picky about who they hired, thats the direction i went cause I am picky about who I work for, I did a ton of research using this site, it paid off pretty good so far.

Most of the drivers that quit quick did not look into this profession before
just jumping in, BIG MISTAKE ,,, this is not easy, you have to pay your dues, thats what i am doing now, it takes months to adapt to this lifestyle, but if you know going in what your getting into its a lot easier, Attitude Is Everything , I thought " I'm gonna quit !" about 3-4 times a day for the first couple months , now its starting to get easier and i only wanna quit a couple times a week,,,lol:biggrin_255:
