exactely right tazz--a malfunctioning slack adjuster would put the truck out of service---write it up--hand it in --then stand there till they fix it--once it is written up --they have to sign off on it

I was driving the truck. Ex D.O.T wouldn't DO ANYTHING! What do you want me to do quit or get fired. Do you want to know the name of the company! Do you want to know companies that require drivers to work after they are awake 24+ hours. You know ex cops have friends. I'm just a truck driver. I'm expendable.:biggrin_25522:

given that choice, quit. I own my equipment, so if something like a steering problem occurs and i gotta get it fixed on the road, im out a bundle. but i would still get it done before i took a chance on killing myself. pretty dumb to risk something as important as STEERING!!!!
when you don't own the truck, it makes that much less sense to keep driving it. Driving jobs are a dime a dozen. Even if you disagree with that, you only live once.

Yes gentlemen. I know and was quite aware that a screwed up slack adjuster would make the truck out of service. That is what I am saying. it is a no brainer. When I turned in my paperwork it should have ended up at the EX. D.O.T.'S cops desk. Instead I got a rash of SH##. Got it. Then I got canned. Got it. and Mr saftey did'nt do squat. and you can't talk to him unless they unlock doors. which means they don't want to talk to you. D And besides that no one answered me about on call drivers being awake 24+ hours a day.:biggrin_25515:

Because if you have a ex. D.O.T. cop in safety it kinda makes you think you are just starting trouble. And I believe that is just what they thought.

Anyway. Hey why does the D.O.T. allow drivers to be on call 24/7 when the driver may be awake 10-12 hours before they report for work? Then work 14 more and fall asleep at the wheel and get in wrecks and stuff.

One more time~ You made the decision to drive it. You broke the law. You asked me to explain personal resposibility, I did. I don't know how to get you to understand if you can't get that.
