I'm not being sanctimonious. My son. You know the father of my three grandchildren. Is out there and it just kinda torques me off when I see him put up with the same stuff. Ok. When you have a son with a wife and three beautiful grandchildren you surely don't want anything bad to happen.

Specific and to the point: You knew the tire would not pass. You drove the truck. You got caught. You got exactly what you should have got. The law is the law, not what you think it should be.

You have been driving for 3 years and from what I can gather and still are driving. Congrats on your mind reading ability.

I drove for 1 year as a hobby and February of 2009 got my own running authorities. Today I have 9 units, all paid for. So please don't try to lecture me how to get the job done. My average work week is over 110 hours.

Our outbound reefer loads pay over $3.00/pm and inbound $2.00/pm
My drivers that are willing to work are well taken care of, they average around 9,000 miles per month and their take home is $6,000 that's $ .66/per mile. However we do have some deadbeats who can't get over 3000miles a month.

If bottom feeder companies are doing so well, what's your story?

Yes my driver got put out of service because he is an "Idiot" plain and simple. There is nothing I can do or say until he was at home. I can't even fire his sorry butt. Unlike USA Canadian labour laws are very strong the worker has all of the rights the employer has none. That's why he still works for me to this day.

In the past 19 months I had 1 driver and 1 vehicle OOS. That's not to bad in my books.

That's a turn for the surreal. Am I to take your post as a theory of

"My boss paid off the DOT to give me a ticket to force me to quit"?

If so remove tin foil, take a scalding shower, replace tin foil and stand in sun:biggrin_2556::biggrin_2556: until golden brown.

So your driver is an "Idiot" because he wouldn't falsify his logbook? Or is the "Idiot" the one who knew he was close to being out of hours and expected him to get'r done anyway?

You know what I said to the trooper that pulled me over and said I had a bad steering tire? No SH#*. Who got the ticket. Who got the bad D.A.C. report. Who had a hard time finding another job.Who ended up working for another trucking company that had a ex D.O.T cop in their saftey department.:biggrin_25513:

i have gone through the border many times and it was less than 4 min--just a hi and a bye---but then there are the times you might be an hour or more--it all just depends--if the driver hadnt been up against his 14 he would have been crazy not to stop---even then once he got to the border he could went for the exemption on hours
not even sure what the comment of having log book set up for canada means??? same log book--same lines--
its always easy for people on here--myself included to project a holier than you attitude when the majority of us have been in the same boat

I believe he is talking about another post where my driver got pulled over for speeding in Michigan 68mph in a 60mph zone which I could not figure out how since all of our trucks are governed # 65mph. However I found out that only the top gear is governed if you drop one gear you can go over 75mph+.

This driver also crossed the border and made a mistake on his log book he had 11 hours to do a 9 hour trip. The cop understood his mistake however in his eyes we are professionals and can't make any mistakes.
