I think he is saying that we run one log book for Canada the other for the USA. We only have one log book in our truck.
We have cleared the Canadian border in less then 5 minutes many times it all depends on your arrival. If you arrive between 11pm and 5am usually within minutes you are cleared unless there is a shift change then you are there for 15min.

This was several years ago. Anyway I went into Canada from Detroit. And I didn't have current papers to return. The Border patrol was doing their job, but I had to get out of the truck and go inside the building. Kinda spooky.I received the twenty questions and everything. Make sure you have your paperwork correct.

now when you cross with ace manifest -you barely even stop--basically no questions--they already know everything about you and the load as soon as they see the license plate--the load is already cleared before you get there--other than traffic--the only thing that may take longer is vascis

No!! a company hired a EX.D.O.T officer for the safety department. And I was thinking that it was all legit. So I kept writing up a left front break and logging legally. I thought I was doing the right thing with the company. OK i will give you an example. NEVER WORKED HERE.

ACE is great for leaving Canada to USA. Erie and Queenston Lewiston crossings they ask us for passports and on our way we go. However there been times that there was a problem with the PAPS and or we have to go for Xray.
Going to Canada at same crossings is a breeze as long as the paper work is in order have one mistake and usually they unload our truck and inspect the load, give us a $400 bill and away we go. -
YES....and i answered this question from you in yet another thread (board). its called a "rebuttal" or "dispute".
if an employer says disparaging things about you, you have the right to say something. -
no fast card?
i just got my passport --it had been expired for about 5 yrs--never needed it
thats part of the problem--crossing at queenston---they are the nastiest bunch there--only time i crossed there was with fertilizer and had to make a daylight crossing--guess they thought i was going to mix it with my diesel fuel
in 6 years never been unloaded--and thats hauling ltl trap loads
sometimes it has a lot to do with the company profile -

What I would have done is write it up once. After that I wouldn't operate the vehicle until it is repaired. That is the point of a write up. A notification that you have found a deficiency in the equipment. Why would you operate a vehicle you had found broken?
I fail to see why the safety departments prior career is relevant. -
Who was driving the truck? You still don't get it do you?
