That’s how we used to load pallets of dollar general grocery bags. The boxes are stacked too high on the pallets so they tip real easy. Loading them sideways leaves less gaps. As far as the single pallets in front, that’s so there’s not too much weight on front. They generally won’t tip as long as the doubles behind them are tight up against them.

This is typically done to make an LTL guy miserable.

2 skids turned the wrong way side by side are immobile with a pallet jack unless they’re CHEP pallets.

Our dock staff is by far not known for their intellect so I allow for some degree of mental retardation, but that stupidity will make me want to bury one of my boots in somebody’s butt.

Early in my career,I took a load out to Temple,PA (Reading) to a food warehouse, (If someone could help me remember what the name was/is)

Its 5am in the winter,3 feet of snow-Im on time, Back into the Dock, Then the comfy forklift guy starts crying and whining because the Load cam in Pinwheeled......Biching the whole time while he was unloading it....You could see the Anger too because He was not being "careful" at all .....

I was young and didn't say anything- Today I woulda told him to Calm Down,Do your Job,Quit Whining and unload it carefully....
