Now they charge extra if they’re pinwheeled and even more if all sideways. Some places like us foods,Sysco etc only have one or two forklifts.
You do know that accusing people of mental retardation and stupidity and low intellect can get you banned by the staff here, don't you? It might offend someone, even if it is true. The truth hurts some people, I know. There is some amount of irony and hypocrisy when a staff member can get away with something that I have been banned for before.
Pallets 48 inches 4 feet this way by 40 inches that way. \Spin them gain 8 inches. Spin 6 sets of pallets gain a extra row in your trailer. If you could hold 24 in a 48 footer not spun you can maybe get two more rows in spun. (I'll have to check those figures. My math gets shaky and unreliable at certain points... serves me right for raging against the stoopid math courses that the schools rammed through my throat. *Gag...)
I got a van load loaded on a 53 foot reefer by having them all pinwheeled, I think 30 pallets instead of 26.
You need to learn the difference between an explanation, an example, a description and a personal insult. Also, if you got banned here you no doubt deserved it.
Assuming product on pallets doesnt "overhang" ...you can get 26 loaded straight in...28 "pin wheeled" ( one straight, one sideways loaded)...or 30 pallets in trailer all "sideways loaded".Need forklift to unload if theyre all sideways. If skilled with pallet jack, you can unload pinwheeled. If you work LTL..a Lot of times that pinwheeling makes the difference in being able to get the "whole route loaded" in one trailer.
I agree with you, but the caveat here is that you really gotta know what you're doing side-loading skids on a peddle route. That's because some places don't have docks, so in these cases the driver has to tailgate the skids to the back of his trailer with a pallet jack for the forklift driver. Other places might have docks, but they only have pallet jacks available to unload.
I'm pretty sure pallets are NOT squares. They have a long side and a narrow side. They are rectangles. I believe turning them sideways allows more/less space between other freight or trailer walls.
