Yeh that's pretty sick ha, say vikingwen I noticed the traffic was pretty conjested around you.

wene ever ists like that you want to excercise patients and give yourself plenty of room in front of you, especially from angry four wheelers.

Check out my video in the art's gallery under trucker videos called live and ride in LA. Its a good demenstration of defensive driving in heavy traffic.

    Check it out.

    "This video does not exist"...

hmmm.... does that mean your perfection of driving in heavy traffic follows the same pattern? :D

Na, for some reason I couldn't upload it with mt phone I'll haft to wait till I get home on my PC to do it. I guess you didn't read the part were I said "see my video in the arts gallery" or do you even know were the arts gallery is.

If you want to see it now go in that sec of the forum and click on to trucker videos you'll see it right there. Right now its the second one from the top.
The arts gallery is near the bottum of the forum.

Its actually in the anything and everthing section. Sub sec art gallery sub sec trucker videos. Near the bottum.

I don't know why you haft to get so insultive. You kinda remind me of the little chump in the video who gets out of the truck all smurky and with that in your face attitude, yet he don't even have a clue of what's going on.

Well. I found your movie, but the first thing that stuck out to me, besides the horrible music which I muted, is the truck on the shoulder at 0.57min and you did not move over a lane and just drove right past him. It did not even look like you really tried to slow down. Now that is a big no no to me. I will move over when I see a vehicle on the shoulder or do slow quite a ways down. That is the law and common courtesy, but you have to look way ahead and not just in front of the truck.

As you can see we can all nitpick each others driving style to death. None of us are perfect and we all try to do the best we can. I have run the last four month pretty much between WA and CA and deal with L.A. traffic on every trip. Since I have multiple pick ups and sometimes close to 15 drops in and around L.A. That are about 45.000 mls were I avoided countless accidents, which included wrong way drivers, red light runners and anything else you can imagine or sometimes just wonder what people are thinking or the lack off.

I had contemplated for a while about posting the movie since I figured it might go in to the typical direction it is going right now. I do not have a problem with critiscm and yes any accident can be prevented if you go far enough back in the chain of events. For example I could have wet the bed that morning and after doing laundry at the TA I would have been 3 hrs behind in time and would have missed most of the Friday afternoon rush hour, but that did not happen and so the chain of events took a different outcome.

The reason for posting is to make everybody think about protecting themselves and their lively hood. We will never know what will happen to us and sometimes it is just nice to have a recording of what has just happened. Also a lot of you guys say you watched the clip multiple times, but that would not be possible without a dash cam and that right there can be a great advantage to look for clues and things you missed. Most of us can not comprehend that much information to recall every minute detail and even if one could do that it still might be our word against somebody else's.

I couldn't get over couse I had cars on my right I guess you didn't notice that though and as you can see the truck was spotted while I was going around the corner try and count how many seconds I had to react from the time he comes in to veiw. The only thing I could do was croud the line to the left.
Further more the key differance he was'nt in front of me notice the safty cusion I maintane ahead of me .

I'n your case in your insident I would be expecting the reaction of the four wheeler far ahead like I said in my original post I suspect that you cut him off. Key differance.
I would of already been ready to back off in your situation especially wene he started to come around the nose.

And furthure more who the hell parks their rig on the ridge like that so dam close to the road. I guess you missed that ### well.

I did not see any cars to the right only saw the truck on the shoulder. Maybe you mean your other right (also known as left . :biggrin_25525:) Unfortunately, I cannot see what is beside and behind you since you only have a forward facing dash cam recording and my lap top does not have rearview or convex mirrors.

Also, how do you know he was parked? He might have broken down and that was the best he could do to get to the shoulder. The driver needs to get out and put the proper warning devices out for sure, but that seems to be optional these days as well.

You are proving my point about arguing over stuff. It will not achieve anything besides some great entertainment for the rest of the bystanders and lurkers. I also watched the movie only once and like I said before it is hard to catch a lot of the details in the very short time you have.

Be safe and don't forget we work in the same profession and deal with the same problems everyday out there. Also forgive my sarcasm for the left and right mix up on your end, but I thought it was funny. :biggrin_25514:
