Someone mentioned about comfort of living in the truck.

I think that if you literally live in your truck, or spend most of your time in it, and don't have a house payment anymore, or at all, then I think it's very prudent to pay more for a truck you can feel comfortable being in all the time. Quality of life is important, after all.

2saint bottom line, what it comes down to is preference. Unfortunately I lost my taste for KW after driving a t600 with a 365cat half mechanical, half electronic. what a disaster. Second comes the t800 with 475cat, after 30k the king pines went. Then the alternator's bracket broke then the turbo came loose only to find out the studs broke again and again, all the while electrical problems plagued this truck. Steer tires, lucky to get 60k out of them, just never ended. The t2000 caught fire due to electrical. Warranty work took 2 weeks at times, costing 12k in gross earnings for those 2 weeks. Yeah the t800 was quite and tight for the first 150k after that forget about it. I bought a used FLD120 with 460k in miles for 39k in 05, made more money with that truck then I ever dreamed. Always started when I turned the key, never let me down. I hated to trade it in, but had to uprgrade year, for a 05 FLD132xl classic, but soon rejoiced at the room comfort and durability. Powered by a 515det, 13 speed, and 355 rears, I enjoy driving it. If you take notice that's 2 48' trailers I'm pulling which I can gross 146k in weight, with a tandem dolly of course. Childs play. It was used when I bought it in 09 for 43k and spend 8000 a year in maintenance driving 120k a year. Never was down more than a day, except for vaca and holidays. Again my bank account reflects that. I'm in business to make money like I believe everyone else is otherwise you shouldn't be in business. The trucks that has made me the most, has been my 2 freightliners. I do believe in the American dream, Abeautiful home, a loving family, providing my kids with tuition to any college or niversity they choose, and the man toys of course we all love. Trips to where ever. Nice cars etc......Not only did those two freightliners get me there, but paid for everything except the house, which I have 14yrs left on. So am I going to be a little bias, you tell me.

And just some FYI, my Western Star cab is composed of all steel, no plastic.

I believe Pete/KW are all aluminum

Kenworth uses the same cheap parts as any other make. they just charge stupid people who buy them 3 times more. and kenworth is not the biigest factory bunk. pete made a 96in bunk factory with a fold down bed table and the works. if you see one you will know it it has a 2 side boxs on the driver side one normal size one and one half the size. freightline also made a factory 84 in bunk with the works. but that just goes to show how little you know about trucks and how quick you jumped on a name plate to be COOL....well go be cool why my freightline classic keeps making me money.....

wait hold the phone Please tell us what makes other trucks made cheap....I got to hear this. but since i hate to wait let knock somethings off the board right away. MOTOR, not made by them and can get any brand for the most part in any truck. rear ends. same deal as motors. trannies same deal as motors and rearends. tires same deal as the rest. wheels same deal as the rest. so now that we have covered the drive train from front to back lets hit the frame. same metals as the rest. ok next the cabs. same fiberglass and aluminum mixed here and there. ok inside. same crap plastic in all the trucks just different shapes. so now that we know that the parts are made from the same things and the only difference is looks what makes everything else cheap and KW so great. they only thing that changes is the design of the truck as far as how things look and the price on parts and buying one. so please go spend twice as much on a KW and their parts than my classic cost and the parts for it. since you have nothing left to cover that would change how a cheap truck is cheap and a KW is made from better things......
