Ok, if it is all the same, what is the point in buying a BMW over a ford? The metal and plastic and cloth all comes from the same general places. What makes the difference is assembly quality. If you are referring to a freight liner classic, it wasn't built as a fleet truck, so it would be very compareable to a W900. However, a Colombia is mass produced. This means less quality control checks to produce more trucks in less time. The truck will run fine, have the same warranty, and do just about the same job, but will have rattles and minor annoyances which drivers will equate to cheap production. Freightliner has a "worst name" than Kenworth cause they lead in fleet production. International is creeping up behind them very quickly with the Prostar. Kenworth did mass produce the T600 and drivers that got the opportunity to drive one of those gems, know that they aren't much nicer than a Columbia. Now I'm not saying all T600s or Columbias were mass produced, but you'll be able to tell the difference between a fleet truck and one that is not. I am a Kenworth fan, but that is a personal choice. A freightliner could get the job done just as well. I also prefer Chevy to Ford, but besides the emblem, either manufacturer could make any given vehicle. Just my opinion.
Bigdubber Thanks this.
