Just spoke to couple old drivers. One drives Volvo with ishift, one drives a Cascadia. Both trucks are 2015. Both drivers said they just absolutely love the new automatics
RustyChops41 Thanks this. -
I have to assume it's an Allison 4000 HS? Don't think a three series would handle the tq of a 13 litre, think they are only good till 1250 ft lbs. -
Drove an auto in a Volvo yrs ago and hated both the truck and the auto. The auto was junk. Often hung up in gears and had to pull over and shut it down for the computer to reset and hope to hell it would shift after.
Never again will I drive a auto or a Volvo. I am a narrow cab and manual guy.. Much rather rely on mechanical then computers rolling down a grade. That and autos just seem to shift funky to me.. -
KANSAS TRANSIT and DUNE-T Thank this.

I had NO idea they could derate that DD13 enough to put a 3000 behind it, learn something new everyday, NOT questioning your truck decision, as I run Cascadias, but at that power level would you have gotten better mileage with the Cummins ISL, 8.9 litre 370 hp/1250 tq??? -
wyldhorses and Cranky Yankee Thank this.
