I think the driver got over into the left lane at the right time.
I can't stand it when drivers get right up behind me before passing. You have no business EVER being so close to me that I can't even see the truck itself, only part of your trailer. I've seen trucks in the left lane less than 1 car length from the vehicle in front of them. That's stupid, insane, and illegal.
If you want to pass me, go for it. My top speed is about 64mph, and if you're not being a jerk about it, I'll even slow down a bit so you can get by me faster.
But if you come right up on my bumper and tailgate me while waiting for traffic to clear, I'll gradually slow down to about 50 or so. If you're gonna follow me that closely, you're gonna slow the hell down.
Why you need a dash cam

Well, I am not an experienced big rig driver, but I do agree with the need for a dash cam. It will be one of the first things I purchase when I start driving and get my own truck. I was driving in Hawaii in a rented 4-wheeler, just driving normally down the highway approaching a curve. Two idiot teenagers came around the curve in my lane and I had to swerve left into the oncoming lane to avoid the head on collision. I was hit a glancing blow in the passenger side, but probably avoided certain death or severe injury. Anyway the idiot driving the other vehicle lied and told police I crossed the center line. A dash cam in that situation would have sure been helpful to me and would have shortened the whole process and headaches of getting that sorted out with insurance companies and fault. That is not the first time one would have been useful either.

As some one who has been on scoots for 40years,I've preety much seen all kinds of insane behaviour.
What the crotch rockets did was dumb as hell, but drifting over to intimidate is just as bad,if thats what really happened.
Being a professional truck driver for over 30 years, has made me a much safer biker.volvodriver01, Lucar and silver dollar Thank this. -
I've been a crotchrocketeer for the past 10+ years

If that bike had braked hard enough and the truck driver wasn't right on the brake immediately like he was and had to swerve to avoid hitting the bike, where is the trucks escape plan? The truck driver was making an appropriate pass and the bikes likely came up very quickly and decided to pass around on the right. It is very possible he could have swerved to the right and this would be a very different story. I know some trucks take forever to pass and people get impatient - I get it. That does not make passing on the right the correct thing to do. In this video that is not the case. A small price to pay by those bikers, in the form of maybe one mile or about one minute, would of been WAY less than the risk they took to pass on the right.
Passin' Side <- and Suicide -> sign comes to mind. -

I got kids and about 15 cousins and I know for a fact young people are dumb. The guy on that bike could had been some one I know.. or even so, some one you knew.. -
What's fantastic about this thread is any time someone posts video, everyone tries to be a crime scene analyst and find fault with the first party making the video. Looking at the it, maybe swerving into the right lane wasn't payback. Maybe the last group of bikes held back a second and OP thought he could move right and yield, then here they come. Or maybe he did road rage. What difference does it make? The featured event was clearly the suicidal brake check.leadfoot80 and willardskillard Thank this. -
