    There is always Werner!

Maybe expand your search to local box truck deliveries, if you have not already. That might be a little more forgiving. Watch those overhangs though!

Werner said 'no' from the start (didn't like my job history). I have only been back from USA for 2 weeks and so far I haven't seen anything in my area yet. Problem is, most companies want a minimum of 6 months experience.

I love how the recruiter at the school said my 240 hours in their program substitutes for 6 months experience. I wish the law would deter them from lying to prospects!

The local school I chose was Eagle Truck training, in conjunction with Harper Community College. At the orientation they did not really mention the pay or long hours. Only how many jobs are available...

They did require we submit an acceptable MVR before being accepted into the program, whether we payed cash or had grant money. So that is at least half good.

    Hell yes I am serious.

YOU and only YOU are responsible for your actions. If you were fatigued and knew you were fatigued you should have said "No, I am unfit to legally drive this vehicle in accordance with federal law"

Do you think your trainer would serve your jail time if you killed somebody due to your driving fatigued and caused a wreck?

You knew you were fatigued and you let somebody tell you to break the law.

    I'd call that intentional.

My school also required an MVR. Swift and USXpress had given me pre-hires at the start, but when they actually did their job and read the ATTACHED Police report, they both pulled back their pre-hires. I also have 7 other 'no's'- some for the car accident in June and some for lousy job history.

They mentioned the pay, but seemed to gloss over the low training salary.

Go without a job for a year and see what you would be willing to do to support your family!

Did you try, pizza delivery? McDonalds? retail?

If you are out of work and have a family to support you should have taken whatever was availible not just sit around for a year....

Been there done that....took the Minimum wage job to pay the bills....

When's the last time you were out of work? Try getting a minimum wage job with even 1 computer job on your application and guess what you hear? Overqualified. NO ONE wanted me! There was NOTHING offered to me! That's why I went to CDL school.

What makes you think I haven't been there/done that?

I got laid off in Jan. 2009.

I found a short term contract job in Sept 2009.

That contracted ended in March 2010.

Was unemployed again until Aug 2010.

So I've been there and done that.

You and only You are responsible for your actions. You chose to break the law, and it had consequences.

I don't know how to make it any clearer than that.
