[Wide Load] when cargo inside flatbed dimensions?

Yea, you outta try driving where my wife and I live.
First you drive on the wrong side of the rd. Right hand steer.
Then the trks. Well even wide I have only saw 3 in 10 years that even put flags on the ld.
I have seen flatbed trks. moving flat bar stock with no chains on them. Just 2 pieces of channel stuck in stake pockets on each side.
Dozers and exc. just sitting on the decks. No chains.
Then you have the motorbikes coming at you on the shoulder the wrong way..
The night driving is even worse. No tail lights on alot of motorbikes and the trks..

 

And if it werent for us truckers ,you wouldnt have paved rds to drive on .with out trucks you dont have nothing .get the idea dood .take a chill pill .

 

Your kidding right have you seen some of dumb s&@@ these truck drivers cry about! My God get off the ops a&& If that profile said "trucker 20 years" you all would have jumped on that crybaby train! Those lights are a pain if they don't need to be on they can cause a accident on the road! Bet if thread was about headlights in the parking lot....waaaa,waaaa,waaaa

I don't give a #### if he's a driver or not, there are many other things to worry about than crap like this.. Maybe you two can get together and think of stupid #### to cry about..

What a bunch of "ambassadors" some of you are.

Mr. Gift has come here a few times now and asked questions that may or may not be phrased well, maybe it's just his style of writing. And more times than not, I see people who are willing to jump all over his butt because of his questions.

He sees a truck with a wide load sign, without an obvious wide load on it and was trying to understand the logic. Give him a break.

To you seasoned uber-professional steering wheel holders, who just can't be bothered with those idjit 4 wheelers, this is probably not the forum for you to be sitting on the fence like a hungry buzzard.

Remember, this is a section of this TTR where the "general public" tries to interact and understand some of the things that happen in this industry.

As silly as the questions may be, if you can't bring yourself to just provide an intelligent answer, or you really aren't capable of providing one because of a lack of intelligence, they invented an acronym for you a long time ago.

This may have been a way to address it:

Mr. Gift, without being able to tell via a photo if the trailer was wider than the allowed width of 102", or 8'6", we really can't tell you whether or not the signs and strobe lights were required or not.

Yes, like was mentioned before, if the lights were a visual hazard, then it would have been prudent to either pass the vehicle, or reduce speed until the yellow lights were not a visual annoyance.

It is a pretty big fine to either have unnecessary "Wide Load" signs or incorrect placards on a vehicle when NOT required, so giving the operator of the flatbed the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure they were there for a reason.

 

Nothing wrong with his post until you get to this sentence, why complain about something before you know what the deal is? Don't really bother me a whole bunch but I can see where others are coming from.

I was already in lane one slowly passing.

It had three small covered items in the middle of the trailer.
So we thoughthe annoyance was totally unneeded.
Maybe we were all wrong not realizing that it was a wider trailer.
If an empty wider trailer, must the yellow lightstill be flashing?

The regular clearance lights were good enough.
