Even though I can make decent money working and training at WilTrans I have little desire to team with a stranger. If I want to team it will be with my sweetie or my dog.
Those 3 week CDL mill guys are scarey. They are taught how to pass the CDL test and not much more. That is the fault of the industry. I have been training with empty and loaded trailers. I am doing some night driving tomorrow night.
I wish my training was longer, and I am not a stranger to big rigs.
The 3 week guys that come to test at my facility don't usually pass first time out.

Rug trucker beware of wil-trans. I was going there on the 10/25/09. Before that date came I broke my wrist(Don't bad). But put me in cast for 4 weeks told wil-trans. said don't problem to stay in touch. Then nothing no return e-mail no return phone calls.nothing.Just got to thank'en what happen. So I called as anew driver, talked to someone new. Did every thang new.Than one day guess who calls the guy a have been talking to the first time. He was glad to hear from me,had no idea what happen. He kept telling me about the lease. 2nd call the lease play again.I told him with economy bad I'm not leasing. Now nothing, No e-mails,no phone calls. It seems to work at wil-trans you have to lease. Not for me at this time. I'm looking at covenant 12/7/09. Good luck!

It's not bad for training. But only if the miles are there. I've read on here where some are making 250,400 weak. I'm not so sure if it has any thang to do with paying back the school. Some statment by rocks and red coats wife mainly dealing with covenant. For training. I do not expected to get paid like a 1 to 2 year driver. But I hope I'll be able to live threw training and be able to take care of the home front. Just the bills and rent.Basic of living for now.

Covenant is banned from my school 'til further notice. Does Western Express hire in your area? They are very busy. I was at their office last week.

Rug trucker yes they do. I do thank when I app. they asked some question about blood presser, driving record and what was my weight and how old I am. She did some computer stuff and said My wieght was to high. I'm 40, 230 pds, 6'1". So they said no. I didn't ask anymore question. If they are like this in the begaining. I choose not to work for them anyway. Do you know why covenant is banned of your school? Thanks.

Yea! I heard that. In training 2 months before home time and some time after. Yea! That's why I don't understand hiring area. Some companies want hire you if you live like,Florida. Because they cant get you home time. They can't get you home time no matter where you live. Why do I have to live in one state to run in the other 48 states with no home time any. most companies are not letting you take the truck home anyway. So why does it matter. But for the drug using drivers. That put's my life in danger. From a guy stand point of view. Might get his lights turn off. I might have to call covenant tell'en the driver never came back to the truck. Lefted in the middle of the night. I just don't know what happen. Ha!ha! just play'en. I'm a big guy. I do not like drugs at all. The next time I go throw a wieght station. I'll just let the DOT man know about it. DUI. Or the next time he takes a shower. I'll find his drugs. Throw them a way. See how he likes be now. I can be a pain to. thanks

I didnt quiet have the same experience as you there. I left prime to buy my own truck and went to wil trans as recomended by prime. when i went thru there orient i was introduced to my dispatcher. first time i ever met her and she read me the riot act. I had done nothing wrong and nothing to provoke her. I naturally thought there would be a standard set of people to protect from these abuses, but when i went to the owner to see about getting another dispatcher, he played like god and tried to make me seam like I was lucky if he didnt fire me right there. the guy was on some kind of ego trip. I did the best thing and got out of there right away. I hope things are different there now, but i would be very cautious if I were you going to work for them.
big wheels Thanks this. -
I hope it worked out for you. You do have more exp. driving a truck then I do. I still have alot to learn. I see alot of companies management with these egos. Hiring people a low wages then abusing employees. Over working them or making them do the work of two for not even the pay for one. Then threat them with firing them because there people standing in line for your job. Then people put up with this abuse because they need the job to take care of there famlies, homes and ect. Good luck
