My trainer at SNI tried to send us for brake fluid and transmission fluid. ...I think we killed it for him because we just stood there and glared at him.

...I think the funniest part is when the maintenance guys play along. "I think we might be out of that. But I'll tell you what, it ain't nothing but -insert item here that's not on base-, so if you can get me some of that I'll make some for you!" Or, "yeah, I think we have some. But I'm out of non-stick glue. Go see if they've got any in the main office and I'll get you your stuff."

But they do still send me on wild goose chases for empties. That's the truth.

We got the guy that asked for the grid squares by cutting up an old map along the grid lines.... Here are your grid squares......

Any oxymoron will work...I've done similar outside of this industry when training new people. It always surprised me how many would fall for it.

...but you can't beat the classics.

We would send the new guy for keys to the PAL lock. In the Pershing missile system, the PAL lock was not an actual lock, it was a software lock; so there would not be a physical key and the password was only available to an officer with a top secret clearance and we would need to be on a training mission.

Oh yeah! Man, i forgot about that.

...I wonder what the SNI mechanics would say if I called and asked if they did that on my last PM?

We used eggway same idea I think. I used to pull that on the cb for a laugh. "Hey anybody got a eggway I can borrow for a few minutes?" or "Holy #### there goes an eggway westbound" Somebody fell for it everytime. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:
