    @Dave_in_AZ

    2 questions:

    1.) What's the APU's burn rate / hour? (You still did not answer that)

    2.) Since you know your truck, does that mean the fuel gauge is not accurate?

    I might be late to the party but 60 gallons will get you just about 350 range. At 6 mpg. You are cutting it close enough to where there might be a couple gallon left in one tank maybe enough to suction your engine.

    I don't know your APU's drinking rate on your fuel. It will be considered a parasite right now. Your batteries will give you 4 hours service whatever they might be at. Kill the APU the last 150 miles in. Your alternator might indicate a discharge but as long you remain above 11 volts to keep everything booted (Ive been as low as 9 before the fuel pump quit)

    If I was thirsty for fuel, get it at any price where you find it. If you want that cheap fuel, maybe split the problem and grab 40 gallons and then fill the rest with the price you want.

    Hey Dave, if you are using your own money for fuel, then check out the Maverick in Holbrook. I live in Show Low and the Maverick has the best diesel price. Added bonus: they have commercial pumps at mine.

    I was thinking why don't your alternator feed those freaking batteries? You would think that the #### things would be fed and topped off by a big enough alternator. You shouldnt need the APU to feed em.

    Did he make it?
    I ran out of fuel twice trying to get to a cheaper fuel stop. Once at the exit in the middle of winter, had to walk back and forth in snow with a little 2gal gas can. Another time 2 miles from the exit, after road call ended up paying $350 for 25 gallons of fuel. Learned my lesson.
