@Midnightrider909 what state is home? Are you leased on in the same state you reside in?

WA is home. GA is the home state of the company I leased on with.

If they have the adequate time and personnel on hand I'm sure they'll do it for ya.
But, if I'm the officer and someone is making this request.. I'm likely looking just a little harder than normal.
Make sure you're Aces Up when you do it or you won't get that sticker.

Used to. Rates and freight is slower than last year. I am having to settle for less these days.

The company I am leased on with is the same way. Every Quarter they remind me like a clock I need a 90 day inspection done. They have a full time mechanic but I use my normal shop wich coincides with another repair. They flat rate the inspection at 45$

I once had a company ask me the same thing, could I volunteer to get level one to lower the score. I looked at the guy that asked me, I asked him would you call FMCSA to do a audit on company records?. He looked at me strange, that's when I told him that's how I feel about asking for a level one. Remember when you ask you are making that officer work. If they select me, that's OK, but me volunteer? nope.

Whoa there midnight, weren't you boasting about paying off your ride early and you are worried about $260?

    Seriously, pay for it.

I know. It’s just that DOT is always so nice to me because I am so respectful of authority. Plus I’m saving up for an extended sleeper Volvo 860 and every dollar counts.

I volunteered for this type of inspection after I bought my first (used) truck back in 2015.

I wanted to get one of those fancy CVSA stickers in my window. Figured since the dealership had just done an "Annual DOT inspection" on the truck, I was good to go!

Pulled into Dunsmuir, CA scale as confident as could be. Guy pulled me in and I noticed he went right under the drive axle area. Slides out and holds a small angled mirror on the end of a pole under the rear passenger side suspension. Calls his buddy over from the inspection bay, pointing and smiling.

I knew I had been had...

Turns out, those Volvos from that period are infamous for developing a hairline crack on the underside of the knuckle of the torque springs.

He knew it and went right to it, ofcourse after he put me oos, he was more than happy to give me the number of a local mobile service mechanic (probably his cousin) that specialised in that repair! LOL

I did get the dealership to reimburse me, however, the oos still went on my csa score.
