Will Prime Hire Gays?

    I filled out an online application at Prime, Inc. I then called the Recruiting department to expidite my pre-employment application. I spoke to Travis and he was very nice at first. I explained I have no experience and wanted to be a OTR driver and team with my Buddy. After asking me about my recent jobs and background he said everything looked fine amd I should be able to attend Orientation Next week in Springfield Mo.

    I have to ask some very personal questions. I am gay and I do not want to be fired if they find out. My Lover wants to share the truck with me after I get past training. Does Prime have a problem with Gays living together in a company truck? We could afford to Lease-On, My Partner is retired Navy 25 years and has a wonderful pension and health care plan. We wouldn't need a lot of money. I figure Trucking would allow us the oppurtunity to see the US and Live together.

    Please Help, We are sooo ready to do this and Prime sounds like they are open to Gays living together in the truck.

    You shouldn't have a problem ANYWHERE as long as you aren't some sort of proponent who makes it a issue in everything you do.

    Trucking is one of those areas where you keep to yourself and do really well anyway.

    ^ What medicineman said. What you 2 do in the truck is your own business...out of the truck also as far as i'm concerned...but you should be very discrete about your sexuality at the truck stops....for your own good and safety ofcourse.

    I'm calling bull schidt on this thread. If this OP actually is not a troll, he has to be the dumbest gay person there is.

    There is absolutely no reason to bring up your sexual orientation when trying to get hired on somewhere. It isn't any of their business, and I'm sure they really "don't give a ####."

    I'm not, I think it's a legitimate concern. You'd hate to work somewhere and down the road have it get out that you're gay and loose your job over it. Granted you could probably win a lawsuit for unlawful termination but who wants to fight that. Even if it is BS, still a good thread maybe it helps someone else who is actually concerned about issues like these.

    Precisely, BigDon. It's no different than any other rider. Like heteros, just show some decorum and keep your gorping in the privacy of your truck. You don't see heteros doing stuff around the terminal, I would imagine the same professional behavior would be expected from gays.
