Airport was there first. Thing is complaining people want something to complain about. Did a track day at Second Creek Raceyway in 2004. When they built the track, there were no houses around. Idiots build their houses right next to a track and start complaining about the noise.

Same thing happened here in San Diego.Airport has been here forever.bunch of people who live under the takeoff path sued due to noise.somehow they won and airport authority had to install bunch of soundproof measures in their houses.ie new windows, doors insulation etc.cant remember the cost but I recall it being pretty high.

Change the headline to "Trucks ignore detour signs and follow gps down restricted route" or "IDOT failed to properly sign detour" - are they still Karens for complaining about truck traffic on a restricted route? That's what the issue is. IDOT had a detour set up, then closed part of the detour and didn't change any of the signage. Trucks followed the detour signs and then made the best of a bad situation by driving down a restricted route. IDOT didn't respond to complaints until the news got involved, then did a half butt hole response.

If that was the headline then it would be all about foreigners not reading the signs. Even though that could still be the case in some of the instances with this detour.

Rural state road 64 in Manatee County Florida. They built a dragstrip in the swamps decades ago. East of I-75. Now the rich New Yorkers are fleeing their utopia in droves and don't want to live near the water (hurricanes scare them) so they bought up land in the swamps right by the strip. They cant stand the noise, even though New yaaakwers are louder than race cars anyways. They are constantly trying lawsuits, petitions everything to shut it down. The whole reason the track was put way out there was so it wouldn't bother anyone and when people bought land out there they had to sign waivers about the noise, and the track even agreed to reduce racing hours to stop at 10pm. These jerks will eventually have their way though.

    Here’s another example of that.

Capital Raceway has been there for as long as I can remember. Then the country clubs to the south appeared. The Karens moved in and started crying about the drag strip. Only this time the Karens won, because now the drag strip has to shut down at midnight.

Similar happened here years ago.... folks come in and built thier homes near a feedlot, then complained about the smell and sued the owner (who I personally know) he was eventually forced to reduce the size of his feeding operation to what it was 10 years prior to the homes being built... he then sold out, as it was no longer profitable for him to operate.

Pisses me off when Karen's come in and then start complaining about what they CHOSE to live by.

The guy in Florida that bought the track is named (nicknamed) Cleetus McFarland. He is a rich kid from Nebraska that came into some money and wanted a race track. But he isn't as rich as his opponents. He has tried everything to appease them
He has built berms, he has tried shutting down earlier and earlier. The one with the most money will win. This isn't about people being bothered by noise really. They want him gone so they can built condos. That's all it is ever about. Mark my words, the same bunch will eventually come in with pallets of money and bulldoze the everglades. All of the "precious special wetlands" thus far have been built on, bulldozed or will be soon. That BS about "We will never let anything happen to that special land" is nonsense when the fat boys show up on lear jets with the big bucks. The big money always wins. Every single time.
