Truth hurts. Not knowing how to split break is your fault. However, cross your fingers they don't notice or you probably would have got an earful by now.
and if you spout off here about not being on break for at least two hours at the first stop, your full of it. Everyone here knows how a walmart dc works. You don't unload your own freight, and you apparently don't have any qualms about blatantly omitting on duty time from your logs.
Will this be held against me?

walmart doesn't haul flatbed loads to my knowledge
1) WALMARTS private fleets have flatbed and a some drop decks as they HAUL their own SIGNS for their sign shops.
2) I haul 100 - 150 WALMART flatbed loads every spring to stock up their GARDEN centres with skids of stone , sand , bark , fertilizersWharf Rat Thanks this. -
Actually, his first part of a split break on -elogs ( or paper) needs to be 8 hours, not 2.
-
Wrong. It can be at any way for the 8/2 or 2/8
-
It needs to be 8 hours on the first part of the break ( if you are not presently running split sleeper) to stop the 14 hour clock and give you the remaining time back at the end of the 8. Two (2) hours off-duty does not stop the 14 hour clock, only 8 of Sleeper Berth.
Example: We will not use the new 30 min break for ease of explanation. You start your 11/14 after on your first day solo ever. You drive 5 hours, ( leaving you 6/9 respectively. If you only take 2 hours off duty at this point, you have 7 hours left on your 14 to complete the remaining 6 hours of your 11. If you take 8 hours, you will still have the 9 hours available to complete the remaining 6 of your 11. Logging 2 hours of sleeper berth will not stop the clock at the first part of the break.123456 Thanks this. -
The fact you can post this with a straight face and think you know what you are talking about, b makes me wonder what kinda of missed opportunities you've had out there not knowing your split.
yes the 2 break does not stop the 14, however he clearly states he had enough time on his 14 to make a nearby parking area. So after an 8 sleep break at his "parking area" he now has a full 11 to drive MINUS the time it took to get from Walmart to his "parking area". His 14 is now calculated from the end of his previous break (plus the clock stopping 8 sleeper break)
So his 14 then starts at the end of the "2 break" and then suspended (clock stopped) while on the 8 hour sleeper break
2 hours not used as break at Walmart is 2 hours arriving later at his final destination. -
you made your 01 and 02 on time since your 02 held you up this will not be held against you. your evening FM should have repowered your load. Also how far were you from CHDSLC yard? if you was running down your 14 doing a 8 hr in the sleeper would have gave you some time back to make the 90 on time. I would never count on a leeway the 90 say you can be latge. that might be the 90 policy but in primes your late

The only opportunities I had "out there" were the ones afforded to me by my fleet manager and the qualcomm. Having said that, I'll run my logs my way and you can run yours your way, it's what makes America great. I have no problem sticking by what I said, or offering it for advice. People can pick and choose what they want to believe. I don't drive OTR anymore, so the split really has no bearing on me now, I no longer need it. I did run OTR for 2 years and six months of that was team. I've played the split many times and found it useful in many instances, though if I could, I would just wait the ten and get full hours back, but that's just my preference. To me, the split just postpones the inevitable and makes logging more difficult.
