15+ Speeding ticket way back in 2015. Forgot about the ticket and paid it in 2018. This is the only thing on my MVR Report. Would this be a disqualifier for Swift?
Will this disqualify me from Swift Employment?

Probably not. Call a recruiter and ask him. How long does a violation stay on your MVR? Alabama, right?Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

Yep Alabama. Not exactly sure how long it stays on the MVR. I would have expected it to be off by now. Swift sent me the copy of my completed MVR this morning that showed it on there. I had completely forgotten I even had that ticket and was surprised it even showed that. So Swift for sure knows about it now. Getting in touch with Swift has been a nightmare in itself though. Being on hold for 45+ minutes at a time and no answer when calling my recruiter directly. They scheduled me to go to their driving academy on the 17th but that was before the MVR report came in so I am just worried they may cancel after seeing that 15+austinmike Thanks this.

Insurance is generally 3 years..
Your mvr is lifetimeDiesel Dave Thanks this. -
Just looked it up and it shows Alabama is 2 years and then the points fall off. So will this mean I should be okay in Swifts eyes?
-
Most tickets on your MVR go by the conviction date, not the date the ticket was written. If you were convicted in 2015 and just didn't pay it until '18 you are probably ok. If you just "forgot about it" totally until you paid it, the conviction date may well be 2018.

If Swift doesn't hire you; try Stevens Transport

That actually adds a wrinkle. If you didn't disclose something and they found it they may decide not to hire you just for that reason. Still, it's a pretty old ticket, and trucking companies are crying for drivers now.
Back before Knight took it over Swift was reluctant to hire anyone who had an accident on their record, but more lenient than most about tickets.
How crazy is it for a trucking company recruiter to not answer his phone nowadays?Last edited: Jan 9, 2022

Wow! That's a good reason not to move to Alabama. It's seven years in Georgia. When I lived in Texas it was three years, except for DWI and reckless driving which were listed for life.

Yeah, it's insane. I have called my recruiter every hour for about 5 days now. No answer. I had to go through the recruitment 1-800 number to get a random recruiter to just start the process 2 days ago.
