Around here at supermarkets (Stop & Shops), they have a cage outside the store with about 30 propane tanks inside. I always wondered what would happen if someone had a rifle a scope and shot a tank in the cage from far away!

 

A couple years ago a gasoline tanker rolled over speeding around a rotary, rolled down the hill and almost burned down a whole city block.

 

You need to quit smoking that stuff! You simply have an irrational fearful imagination about those exposed fuel tanks on trucks. Diesel really doesn't "explode" that easily anyway:

If some crazy person decided to randomly shoot my fuel tank when I'm driving down the highway, the worse thing that is going to happen is a fuel leak, and taking the appropriate actions to secure the spill per the FMCSA green handbook under the hazmat section, the red Hazmat handbook, and the orange Emergency Response Guide.
