Have NEVER seen the rest areas on 75 in northern Ky so empty that time of the morning. Same with the rest havens at the coop on SB side.
Will you make it home tonight ??

I'm an O/O for Arnold. I told them my truck is sitting from 12/23 until 01/01. They didn't seem to mind, but i don't think company drivers are so lucky.
-
Got home yesterday, (12/23) home until Friday. emptied out in Charlotte, deadheaded 210 miles to drop my student home for the holiday, then deadheaded 135 miles to the terminal in Richmond, from there was ordered to bobtail 945 miles to the house and pick up an empty trailer on Friday to reload. Now that's how you take care of your drivers, not sitting them in some truckstop having a wonderful Sysco Foods supplied dinner.
Sorry if the last part of my response sounded a little jaded, but any company that keeps a driver out on Christmas isn't worth the time of day. -
Covenant transport drivers couldn't make it home because he couldn't take the truck home its against company policy he dropped it off at their terminal and take 2 days bus trip and won't make it home thats what he told me im glad to be a local driver.
TruckDuo Thanks this. -

I work for a local company. Its our slow time of the year so we close anyway as most of our customers & suppliers are closed.
The office closed Friday 12/20. The plant closed Monday morning 12/22 as the night shift worked off.
I also work M - F but they asked if I wanted to work another day on Monday to make a couple of local drops in town. I don't mind since its home so I worked from 8 am to about 12 noon Monday.
I will go back 1/1, pick up a loaded trailer & head to Arlington, TX, spend the night & unload 7 am 1/2/14.
In short, I am off from 12/22 through 1/1... and for the record, we are off without pay. But we know that so we plan for it. We will be ok -
I'm home now, Our last truck out rolled into the yard as I was leaving. Stopped at the office and got my gifts from the company. A custom embroidered Carhartt coat and $150 cash.
