Hauling fuel is one of the easiest job's I ever had. The pay was decent too... I didn't work for Williams but I applied twice, pass the road test each time but they never called me back for a drug screen.. don't know why... I won't waste my time with them again.. but give it a shot... Brush up on your basic math because they will give you a math test with word problems that is job specific.
The final portion of the rest is a two diagrams of a tanker truck with the load capacity for each compartment. The word problem will read something like... The customer is requesting 5000 gallons of 87unleaded, 2100 gallons of 89unleaded, and 1200 gallons of 91unleaded, how will you load your truck? just remember all compartments must be loaded to capacity listed on your tanks(@90 percent for the truck and storage tanks at the gas stations) you can only give them what your truck can handle, so if the customer is requesting 5000 gallons but based on the room you have you can only give them 4200 gallons that's fine.. you can be off a couple hundred gallons.
The next set of questions are your order of operations when you arrive at the gas station. Step 1 is always check your address upon arrival, step 2 check the storage tank capacity for each tank prior to offloading and make sure you don't load more than 90percent in each tank for safety reasons.. (For example..87 unleaded gasoline storage tank is 20,000 gallons capacity. You multiply 20,000 gallons tank x 0.90 =18,000. So you cannot load a 20,000gallon storage tank more than 18,000 gallons. Next, find out out how many gallons is in that storage tank and subtract it by 18,000 (the 90 percent) and that will tell you how much you can safely put in that tank without going over 90percent. So if the tank already have 12,000 gallons, 18,000 minus 12,000 gallons =6000... that mean you can only put 6000 gallons in the storage tank . The customer wanted 5000 gallons of 87 so that mean you can dump it. Now let's say you checked the storage tank and it had ,14,000 gallons. You can only off load Your compartment with 4000 gallons and retain the compartment with 1000 gallons. it's not safe to drive a tanker truck with a Half loaded compartment. The rule is, either you can dump the entire compartment or you retain the entire compartment. So for the test, remember you retain the entire compartment and load around it and use that compartment for your next stop..
There are a few more things but that's the basics. Maybe other drivers can chime in..
