Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Any recommendations particularly for women? I am a late 20s female. I am trying to avoid CRST or Western Express.

Good pay ! But team runs into NYC to fast food restaurants and other non desirable areas .
All equipment maintained on site by Ryder and clean .
Very high turnover rate among drivers .MissPPcopter Thanks this. -
I see that they go to nyc and jersey a lot. I actually work at their competitor down the road (the company that bought out maines) and find myself envious of the drivers and what they do. I know they earn every cent and are probably underpaid but I think willow run could be a good training opportunity. I applied for them yesterday and one of my previous employers/friends told me they called them to verify my employment dates. However I have not heard from them at all on my end. Hoping they can be an option.Brettj3876 and bzinger Thank this.

I never worked there actually...I used to deliver there alot and I talked to some of theyre driver's.
We also have a member here that worked there who may be along to shed more light on them too .Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
If you must as a last resort get your year then bounce. Far as I know they still only require a year if they pay for your CDL. Can't beat the city driving experience as a 1st gig but the atmosphere there sucks. A bunch of pissed off people with dead end jobs....don't think I need to explain myself more. I worked there for a year, my 1st gig out of CDL school.
Just being there a year and being the low guy on the totem pole I was still grossing about 1050-1200 sometimes more with a 4 day work week. Not the best for food service but this area is depressed I'm sure you know that so they can control the money more compared to a bigger company like US foods or McLane.
It's probably different since Len Basso got fired.....head of transportation. I'm barred from the property, we had some loud words
Luckily the receiving dude doesn't know my face 7 years later. I still deliver there sometimes. -
From talking to a few drivers it sounds like Lineage is the better of the 2. Don't sweat it, 2 different companies but the same BS. Have you looked across the street from Maine's?No lumping food at SalSon. Mostly night deliveries to Dick's
Talk to Frito alsobzinger Thanks this. -
I will need a company that offers training to get my CDL. I appreciate your suggestions!bzinger and Brettj3876 Thank this.

I can't remember if the FedEx contractors take newbies but it wouldn't hurt ask half a mile down the road on your left. One of my neighbors works for a contractor running to Harrisburg daily. Leaves around 4am, drops the set in Harrisburg and hooks up another set coming back. He averages 9 hours a day, M-F weekends offbzinger Thanks this.
