Across the top of the windshield, I have a 6 inch strip of 5%, same on side windows. Have been thinking about putting some down along the dash on the windshield.

The tint used is Gila brand, the cool part about it is it is not an adhesive type, but static cling. So all you need is very clean glass and distilled water to install.

I had a bottom strip on my 359. An Arkansas trooper stopped me and had me peel it off on the spot. Top is legal, but not bottom. No tickets or anything that day. But he was serious about remove it right now

    How about sunscreen.
I use that and while it doesn't stop uv rays. It doesn't leave me missing chunks of skins either, especially in my companies trucks, that are hit and miss on whether or not the AC works.

FMCSA has a section on tint and what’s allowed and what’s not.

I will figjt out with any DOT on the spot and unless they can prove it with the tint machine calibration that is out of requirements they can’t make u take it out or give u even a warning!
Is our life and health on the line here, we just need to be prepared and informed
Here is the requirement by the FMCSA that i carry printed on the truck and has worked several times, hope it helps someone!!

I'm sure state laws very on window tinting, but at the minimum, use sun screen! I've been driving over 25 years and learned the hard way, getting skin cancer on my left arm and worse...on my ear and nose. I now use sun screen, and use a sun visor extention to block UV on my face. Where I drive, any tinting is illegal.

Kentucky DOT carries a tint meter in their car. The guy that stopped me had it in his hand, the first thing out of his mouth was "roll down your window"

Could always take the high tech approach of a long sleeve cotton jersey too.

The big reason i like the static cling stuff is that it comes right off. No mess. Put it back up later with just a spray of water and a clean cloth.
