Window tinting

Thanks! I just printed that off. Not sure if it would do any good compared to a state's picky regs but it's worth a try. I'll put it in my cab folder.

I too have skin cancer on my left arm from 25 years of it sitting in a window. I tinted my Volvo 20% on the sides and a 6" 5% eyeband on the windshield. SO much better than before.

 

My company has been using part of our weekly safety meetings to grill into our skulls that any tint on windows MUST meet legal standards. That's after a few of our drivers were nailed for tint that was too dark. Our terminal even bought a tint meter to measure the tint of our O/O fleet.

Rather than resorting to tint, use long sleeve shirts. It's legal and much more effective.

 

I have time on the driver's window. I roll it down when I hit scales.

 

The side windows are tinted from the factory. Not a lot, but you can see it with a pair of polarized glasses at the right angle.

People throw on some tint and don't account for the tint that is already in the window and then go over the legal limit for tint.

There are FMCSA guidelines in the green book for window tint.

I have 70% ceramic tint on both side windows and it blocks a lot of the heat. I got it for the exact reason you’re describing, and it’s definitely my favorite accessory I’ve put on my truck. Looking at the windows from inside or outside you can’t even tell it’s there, but you can feel the heat difference right away once it’s installed.

The whole left side of my face around eyes looks older than right .This should be an OSHA health safety right. I see see lot of tinted trucks.

 

Where can I get mine done like that?
