I didn’t mean support. I meant that I was under the impression that 10 was just going to be updated going forward. (I thought at the time “oh, just like Apple did with Mac OS X”)

But maybe now that Apple moved on to macOS 11, MS thought best to do so as well… ;)

But glad to hear they will support 10 for another few years.

Actually, I think my favorite operating system was VAX/VMS. But that was for what was referred to at the time mini computers. They weren't mini, but they weren't main frames. It was the first operating system I learned about virtual memory systems and, for its day, was really awesome. Other ancient systems I worked with (I did hardware and software maintenance back then) were HP mini computers running RTE-4 (Real Time Exec), Dec PDP-11 running RT-11 and some weird French computers running a sideways version of Unix called Unigraphix. It did use the X Windows stuff that was really cool. If you had several networked together, you could open up an X Window on any display that was logically attached to a different machine and you'd never even realize you're not doing something on your computer, but a different one somewhere else. We played a few hijinks with a few folks with that. All old tech these days, but it was cool and awesome for its day!!!
