Interesting how we got a Microsoft employee after we started discussing Linux a little more seriously, isn't it.:biggrin_2554:

I figure I bought a copy of 98SE that never worked so they still owe me an OS that does.

Said it before, I'll say it again. I don't pay for software. Hell even the xbox 360 I have is hacked aka modded.

I'll pay for software, but I wanna test it first. And I don't mean "demo". I want full featured. If I like it, I buy it. If I don't, then I didn't lose any money on crap I can't, or won't use.

We modded the old one but it's pathetically weak. It'll only play divx/xvid video, forget about h.264. Makes for a decent mp3 player once you get the MS garbage off it but what doesn't anymore.

Modded the old one what? An older Linux movie player? Cause the Totem player I've got with Ubuntu 9.10 works beautifully, and I've yet to find a video format I can't play with the right plugin.

I find it funny that a Microsoft product is built on a Linux operating system. I wasn't aware of that before.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::whax:

Well, it wasn't supposed to be. We wanted it to actually work, though.
