CLINDO!!!! It works great, spray it on, wait 15-20 seconds, wash it off. It literally burns the bugs right off.
Thanks everyone. Some great suggestions! I've been doing the glass cleaner and sponge, but 10 minutes down the road I seem to start hitting the big juicy ones. Drove from Memphis to Dallas on Monday. Fueled up in West Memphis at Loves and cleaned my windshield. It was raining too. After the rain stopped before Little Rock, I don't think I missed a bug all the way to Dallas .turning on the wipers and using just the plain washer fluid just smeared their guts around.Didn't really REmove them...just moved them....lol....
Not to get off topic, but why do some drivers use the squeegee at the fuel island to try to wash their entire truck cab?
And then you get the jerks who use it to wash off their fuel tanks, getting diesel on the squeegee. . .
I would think that getting some of that spray like "OFF" would keep the bugs from being attracted to your windshield. What really bothers me is when I hit a bird. I hit a Cardinal a couple of weeks ago. It avoided the tractor but the trailer nailed it. I hunt, I fish, I eat meat. But hitting a songbird makes me sick.
After I clean my windows, doors, hood and tanks (in that order) I dunk the squeegee several times so it's not as bad for the next guy.
I use these. I got a deal off a Swift driver that quit. $50 If that doesn't work you can always use good ol' redneck ingenuity and use these. Hang one on each mirror! You'll need an inverter though. I believe they all answered your question so I had some fun!
Watching drivers do this is one of the reasons I do not use them anymore. I use the bug wash from Prestone or Rainx. I wash my truck at home.
Bug season hasn't even started yet up here in the tundra..... Stay away from the 99 cent per gallon washer fluid ..... I use rain x brand.
