    Do you feel the heat blowing out of the defrost vents?

    Um, if I may, what's going on here? This inside or outside? By "using the wipers", I imagine outside, and if you are getting ice buildup on the windshield, you better back your axx out of it, because it could be freezing on the roadway. I don't mean to be rude, but have you ever driven in ice or "freezy fog"? To be honest, this post kind of blew me away, BUT,,,I realize it's entirely possible for someone to never have driven in ice. My rule of thumb, was if the wipers couldn't do it, it was time to pull over. Probably what those knuckleheads in Dallas should have done.

    As a longtime resident of Michigan, my rule of thumb was, when the tires get quiet, the roadway loses its gloss and you stop seeing water spray on the tires of the vehicles around you, it's quittin' time.

    Just an FYI: The newer Stars have a block on the recirc door to prevent it from closing all the way. I pulled mine out so I can get only outside air, and it helped tremendously.

    Just pop the shroud like your changing the filters and it's one screw.

    If your question is in response to the speed. I was hoping by slowing down I would keep the heat on the windshield.
    I do my best not to be just a steering wheel holder but, truth be told I don't have any one out side of this website to talk too or learn from. Out side of you tube that is.
    Asking a random driver in a truck stop has proven to be redundant. Some drivers just wanna see another fail.
    Genuinely I enjoyed your response, it made me laugh. But I ask what I don't know. And learn what I can retain.

    If it was in response to the low heat levels. I get so hot so fast. If I turn it up too high. I get extremely weak and sick on the stomach. In just a couple mins.

    Right. Also can use windshield deicer fluid that's made for the reservoir.
    The RV antifreeze in the reservoir may be better; haven't tried it.

    I have a Freightliner M-2 106 Rollback, and usually on the road more than most, sometimes all night in these storms.My homegrown solution to the pathetic heat and blower output was to go nuclear.

    I bought one of the add on heaters on Amazon that burns diesel
    in the cab, and regulated with a remote clicker. Sure, sometimes
    it gets too hot, so to regulate I just open pass. side vent window.

    I bought 2 of the truck-stop chrome fans to put on dash, one is
    by my drivers door blowing to pass, side. other is on pass. side blowing to the middle. If 76 deg. inside, in an ice storm that is 15 degrees outside freezes my windshield, time to give it up;
    park and live to fight another day.
