winter washer fluid. good to below zero. when build up starts hit the washer, will melt snow. keep a couple extra jugs in the truck.

mix up a spray bottle of 2/3 alcohol ,1/3 water. makes a great de-icer

Badmon, austinmike and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Put a long sleeved shirt or light jacket on and open your drivers window about 1.5 or 2 inches and keep your heater fan on high and on the floor or through the dash a/c vents.
Regulate the temp with the temp control.
Running the a/c will remove some moisture from the air.
Do not set to inside air, you want a good flow of dried air out of the cab/sleeper past the windshield and out the side window.

Methyl hydrate is better and costs less at the hardware or paint store

I don't have anything to add other than I remember how much I hate Colorado in the Winter time.

You beat me to it.....I put alcohol in the fluid as soon as it starts getting cold. I'll add, put alcohol in a spray bottle and spray the wipers down, of snow is anticipated.

TallJoe, D.Tibbitt and 650cat425 Thank this.

    1. Run floor heater only. On my truck, I have a separate button to activate the A/C. Turn the A/C on too.
(news flash: A/C does NOT mean "cold air", it means "dried air". It gets the humidity out of the air its blowing)
    2. Both side windows down all the time about 2-3 inches. But Lobo, I'll get cooold. Then dress like a truck driver just for today, funny guy.
    3. Wipers on slow intermittent, enough to keep any snow from sticking to the windshield. Speed depends on how fast its coming at you.

If the wipers aren't perfectly cleaning, then fork over about $12 and buy some new ones, moneybags. Its your life and your livelihood yer investing in.
    4. Use the purple washer fluid thats good down to -35°F. Its also got deicer in it. Costs $1 a gallon more than the blue ####. Wash your windshield if you get any streaks of ice forming, and get rid of it early, before it becomes a problem.

I still sometimes have problems with freezing fog, or freezing mist. Roads are hard to figure out with that stuff too, because I usually don't park it, I just slow down a bunch.

What others have said about the floor heat works for me. I usually always have the window cracked about an inch or 2 and the wing window open

I use minus 35 washer fluid. Defrost and visor down. Window slightly cracked.
The blue stuff can freeze in the jets when it gets too cold.

If it’s snowing too hard. Pull over for a couple minutes, if possible, and the accumulation melts real fast.

I don't know how snow is supposed to melt and the windows not fog with heater on the floor. Specially if you track snow inside the cab. That's just more moisture to blow around.

W900 wipers don't lay on the hood. Mine swing side to side.

FYI. I bought my car new 3 years ago. It don't have any pressure below 45* to run the compressor in defrost. But semis hold more.

BTW. I didn't know about the visor trick till it was mentioned on this forum few years back.

Keep the windshield cold(NO DEFROST) and the snow won't stick.

    Numb and beastr123 Thank this.
