Watch your CB antennas they will get ice build up on them and start wobbling on a day when its cold and foggy before it starts freezing on the roads.
okiedokie and TheDude1969 Thank this. -
Flatbed and Lepton remind me of a storm last winter, Indiana shut mutiple interstates down for 60+hrs (due to INDOT incompetince JMO). But sitting at computer I was able to watch them open the roads, and read in real time the surface temp, air temp, and base temp. Meaning they have temp sensors in air, on surface, and sub surface to predict the amount of freeze possible/predictable.
My point is as more interstates become smarter with sensors and cameras it is possible for all of us to see conditions in real time, and with some common sense figure when the sub surface temp vs salt spread may become too dangerouse to travel.slim shady Thanks this. -
There are some areas that have FOG DETECTION centres in bad areas , quite the looking gizmo , lots of info available but not always available when you driving in the middle of no where

canned soup RTS lots of it, pick the types that can freeze and still be good. small propane tanks and torch you can use it for many things including heating water and warming low batteries.
TheDude1969 Thanks this. -
many companies do not allow torches and open flame devices on trucks.
everyone should check their company employees manual first.TheDude1969 Thanks this.
