Business as usual, winter happens every year. News channels love a bit of panic and doom.
Lite bug, nextgentrucker, Concorde and 18 others Thank this. -
Drove many a miles in the snow the last 38 years, but currently my rig and I do our best to avoid it. We still know how to handle it to get us home if we happen to be out in it, but we choose not to leave the house in it. Fair weather driver currently and I am ok with it!

I predict this years point of view of the snow from me and my rig will be exactly the same as last years! Parked till it’s off the roads.

Since we are talking cold weather what are your experiences with block heaters. Say you plan to park a 1996 Series 60 that has a fresh inframe for 5-7 days and you don’t want to idle at all. No extreme temps but 05-negative 5 most of the time. Could a block heater play catch up the last couple days or does it need to stay plugged in the entire time? Not my juice so I want to not abuse my access to it! @wore out

I’d just plug it in the afternoon before you plan to start it.

Its not that i cant handle bad temps and snow. Ive done this crap for years. Its that i dont trust everyone else on the road not to bloody kill me anymore. So this storm im saying screw it and parking it till its over. Just too many close calls to close together.

A few hours is plenty. A trickle charger along with the block heater always guaranteed easy start
