Food grade tankers have a water jacket around the product tank. When it's cold, and the hoses are attached, the product is kept warm by circulating engine coolant through the water jacket. If it's cold enough, and the truck is idling, it may not produce enough heat to keep the product and engine warm.

I noticed the truck stops on the west side of DFW were jammed packed on my way home, I'm sure it's a lot worse on the east side. I know you're going to Sulphur Springs but shutting down in a more rural location is always the right call in these situations.. you don't want to be packed into a truck stop in these situations.. If I remember correctly, I do believe there is a Cracker barrel across the street from you, maybe they'll be open for a warm meal sometime over the weekend... Make the best of it and stay safe!

    Looks like it’s already starting.

This is the only app I use for road conditions.
I’m sure by morning there will be a lot more yellow and reds mixed

It is now..slushy but by tomorrow it'll be deadly ice pack...I was really lucky as the storm hit as soon as I was off for the weekend.. The South can be the most dangerous area to drive in during the winter.. just FYI.. you're getting good experience.. I'll keep an eye on your thread..Ttyl..

    Google Map?

####, I'm not getting experience at all since I shut down lol, but I hate driving in the snow... It slows you the hell down and your wiper blade gets frozen so you can't see crap.

Was looking for a Texas load on Monday since I didn't want to deal with being on the cold side of this , it's -25 here at the house right now, then looked at the forecast again on Tuesday night Wednesday morning and called that idea off. Now I am rearranging my garage finding all sorts of goodies I thought I lost
