Winter Blast on its way

This time of year can really be a Royal pain the ##*. Once you make it to Valentine’s Day it’s usually smoother sailing on the backside of winter. Too bad I evicted all of the groundhogs out of the yard last summer because I’m curious what they’ll have to say on Monday!

 

-4 this morning in the yard, lost 2 weeks for my back issues, truck gelled up when I went to clean the snow off today, won’t get above 10* till next Monday, guess one more week won’t hurt…

 

Maybe this snow and cold is not so bad. I haven’t had a beer this cold while grilling in a long time!

 

Are you going for a dip in the pool after you eat?

 

No but I have a reasonably good cold weather story about the pool!
A few years ago when we were building the pool we rescued and adopted our male Pete, short for Peterbilt (I got to name this one as long as we used Pete and not Peterbilt). My wife was taking him and our female out to Pee in zero temps. Pete decided to jump through the contractors plastic fence and go into the unfinished pool which was full of water and a light layer of ice.
I came home from work and the wife and Pete were sitting immediately in front of the fireplace. My wife proceeded to tell me the story about how she and Pete were the first swimmers in our pool in the middle of winter. He was a rescue from the Mayfield Ky Tornadoes several years ago and as cold as that water was she was extremely glad to have saved him from an ice cold pool.

Oh yeah, I'm alive, thanks for asking lmao!! That storm was crazy as hell... A LOT of trucks was stuck at the truck stop including me. Tow trucks were making banks lol, well, I only saw one, so HE was making bank, and I thought I was going to need one but I just dig out the ice around my drive tires and the trailer tires, lock my axles and I was out of there. I think I was doing 20 mph get out of that truck stop lmao!!! I didn't want want to be those guys that were going slow and end up getting stuck in the middle of the lot LOL!! But anyway, I got to the receiver Tuesday and they said "Yeah, we won't be able to unload you until tomorrow ( Wednesday )", I was like alright, went to a Love's nearby, took them 4 hours to unload me. After that, went to McAllen, got my load, and I'm in traffic on I-81N because of a crash in Tennessee right now, and this is why I hate driving in the snow, they get stuck to your windshield and you can't see #### which slow you down... But yeah, that's where I've been, that load is here for Monday cause there's no way I was going to make to Delaware it Friday.
