Lol, NOPE! Didn't even send a response to my message when I told them that the receiver wouldn't be able to take me that day.

I drove right thru the first one from Chicago to Abilene and managed to miss the ice by driving west across IL and IA then south to KC (city limits were a bit of a mess) and thru OKC (another mess) via KS and ran into some rough sledding into thru and out of Abilene (ended up in El Paso and got from OKC to Abilene via Lawton and Wichita Falls). Hard to remember the whole trip but I think it was fairly rough from Wichita Falls to Abilene.

Now I'm leaving IA not too far outside Omaha headed to New Jersey with a drop in WV will be interesting to see what happens.

Oh yeah, I'm alive, thanks for asking lmao!! That storm was crazy as hell... A LOT of trucks was stuck at the truck stop including me. Tow trucks were making banks lol, well, I only saw one, so HE was making bank, and I thought I was going to need one but I just dig out the ice around my drive tires and the trailer tires, lock my axles and I was out of there. I think I was doing 20 mph get out of that truck stop lmao!!! I didn't want want to be those guys that were going slow and end up getting stuck in the middle of the lot LOL!! But anyway, I got to the receiver Tuesday and they said "Yeah, we won't be able to unload you until tomorrow ( Wednesday )", I was like alright, went to a Love's nearby, took them 4 hours to unload me. After that, went to McAllen, got my load, and I'm in traffic on I-81N because of a crash in Tennessee right now, and this is why I hate driving in the snow, they get stuck to your windshield and you can't see #### which slow you down... But yeah, that's where I've been, that load is here for Monday cause there's no way I was going to make to Delaware it Friday.

You got your cherry popped without incident, congratulations! Man your company is dispatching you like you're a storm chaser or something..I had a dispatcher like that one time.. Hang in there, winter will be over soon enough.. stay safe.

When I was running blanket wrap freight for North American Van Lines in 1999, they kept me deep in snow from when I left home after Christmas until the middle of January. I told my dispatcher that if he didn't get me a load somewhere sunny like S Cal or Arizona that I would go home and not come back out until May. He got me a load of fixtures going to Bakersfield. I spent the night at the old Bruce's Truckstop and when I woke up the next morning, there was 5" of snow on the ground. First time it had snowed there in over 25 years. Some years I though that crap was following me everywhere.

LOL!! Good story.. You know the snow pack out west is limited this winter or maybe I just haven't been paying attention..seems like I-80 Wyoming and west has been real docile this winter.. they need their snow pack..

LMFAO!! Thanks! Yeah, actually we don't have dedicated dispatchers, we have regional dispatchers, like one for Westcoast, one for Northeast, one for Midwest etc. But, yeah, I've been out since January 3rd, won't go home until the last week of March, but I can't wait for winter to be over, the states are more beautiful without it LOL!

Yeah, here in Delaware, where I'm going to deliver this load is close to where I usually pick up a load, and it's always going back down South unless Northeast dispatch give me a freaking NJ one or send me to Upstate NY, then I'm most likely going back to Florida with a load which I wouldn't complain about it lol.
