Winter Blast on its way

Just started my truck this morning. -27F in south dakota. 90/10 blend of #1/#2. Just set my timers and ran my battery powered block heater for a good 4 hours before i cranked it so the coolant and block were around 80 degrees. Zero issues other then that i am going to be adding to get some aerogel and insulateing the bunk area floor to my todo list....

Left my drinking water jug on the floor and woke up to a slushie.

Edit: also i just have T4 shell 10W-40 in mine for refrence.

Dont let the -21 fool you. Got a murcury thermo zip tied to my mirror. -27 according to it, my truck and the digital thermo i have.

 

Shoot, I came home two days ago. Lol, I was coming home anyway, but not headed out Monday if this happens this weekend!

I'm in the ice zone so if we lose power me and the wife will probably just go out to the truck, fire up the diesel heater and sleep like babies.

I'm not yet sure how warm I can keep us with just the wood stove in here.

 

The real question, is do i get a sixer of t bones or a dozen strip steaks?

 

Bacon cheese and onion stuffed stripsteak burgers with a T-bone on the side?
