I didn't read through all the posts here but as far as cold weather trucking go's these are the modifications I'm doing to my truck to beat the cold: installing a fuel tank heater, installing a Davco fuel filter housing heated by both coolant and 110V plug in, insulating the fuel lines to and from the fuel filter housing & insulating the coolant hoses from the motor to the fuel tank heater. I know alot of people dont like the MBE4000 motor (I'm still on the fence with mine) but the intake heater they offer for them is the best thing since sliced bread, I've owned the truck for over a year now and have NEVER plugged it in at night but it awlays starts the next morning. Another common sense thing about cold weather trucking is keep plenty of blankets, warm clothing as well as some food and water just incase you get stuck somewhere, I also keep a small propane heater in the truck just incase also.

Propain heater in the truck. Yeah. Great idea not to suffer too long. It is simply suicide.

:biggrin_2552::biggrin_2552::biggrin_2552: Suicide??? Please elaborate on this smart ### remark.

Crack a window when you have the heater going for ventilation. I've never had to use that heater, but if your ever stranded someplace and the truck is dead atleast you've got some heat.

Replace air dryer ,drain water dirt from fuel tanks before cold weather,, can also isolate tanks fuel line : keep fuel tanks above half ;drain the water daily from air tanks , extra windshield washer, brakes antifreeze;keep some foods/ cans, water, extra blankets or sleeping bags candles/flashing light extra batteries; a small shovel a bag of sand or salt.keep more distance from the vehicle ahead on ice snow:don't pull hard the steering or slam brakes:
parked sleeping; install an extra fire/smoke carbon monoxide alarm in cab,; sleeping keep 1-2 windows open cab/sleeper 1/2 inch for fresh air doesn't matter if the engine idling ,APU or webasco: Get a smart phone watch weather and road conditions, no load worth a life; pray for global warming.

It simply use out the oxygen while burning, produce carbon dioxide and monoxide. The dioxide is not poisons, but suffocate you if there is too much and too little oxygen. The carbon monoxide is a different story. Its attachment to the blood cells three times stronger than the oxygen and accumulating!!! in your blood. So your blood can carry less and less oxygen. It is totally odorless, by the time you realize something wrong, you have no enough power to open a door or window. Let alone if you are sleeping. It can kill you even if you have enough oxygen by venting! Last year we had one dead driver in Toronto because of this mistake, and regularly kills hunters and fishers in cabins in the wintertime.

It's like anything else, use it with common sense.

This guy has it right. I chain a steer alot where I go in the patch. You always want to chain the left side steer so it pulls to the left if you chain the other side it will pull you into the ditch.
