Dude this has nothing to do with egos I couldn't care less about how you drive you constantly contradict your self on here and ignore it when called out! DO YOU BLOW DOORS OFF OR DO YOU FLY DOWN LONELY STRETCH'S OF ROAD? Which is it?

It's both. I run lonely roads where I'm the only truck for miles and I also run a lot of miles on I 80 in wyoming which is busy as hell and I run by you guys that are scared at 60 plus all the time. I do believe that your ego has quite a bit to do with the stupidity that your spewing on here because you fail to see anyway that somebody could be able to have far advanced skills than you. I'm out of this thread but believe me that when you come across wyoming and the roads are #### you won't see many oilfield hands driving 10 mph with a white knuckle grip and we sure as hell don't quit unless the roads are closed because when we get to our exit we are going to chain up and drive in conditions that a pavement pounder like you wouldn't even think possible. Have a good winter holding the snow down in the truckstops.

Are you quite through trying to stuff words in my mouth? It wasn't me who talked about blowing doors off intentionally, and if you had bothered to read, you'd have seen I scolded him for running to close to 10/10ths. Have I blown doors off? Absolutely! If you running by yourself at a far slower pace than necessary, I'll slow before I go by, but I'm not dropping 30 mph for an idiot. A string of idiots? That I'll slow down more for, because I don't trust a skeerdy cat to look in the mirror before they pull into the left lane to pass.

And I realize it may be hard for some of you to grasp, but there are still places were you can drive at night for hours without seeing another car.

LMAO! Somewhere on here, once upon a time, I posted step by step instructions on how to do a bootleg turn (180 degrees) in a tractor trailer. It's fun, and it throws more snow than you could possibly imagine! And yeah, the lurid slides you can do in a bobtail are freaking awesome! :biggrin_2559:

He already told me ^up there somewhere that we don't have any skills, it's just knowing your truck. He just can't grasp it's not something you can just do without practice. It just won't sink in that our speed might be unsafe for him, but it may well be safely within our limits.

Well you guys are just a bunch of maniacs!!!

I'm going to sit over here in CA with the family drinking beer and staring down beaches until the new years. Much safer. Then I'll probably go live over in SD and drag some grain around. I'm sure I'll be ending up in the ditch every day since the roads freeze over most the winter and their is no traction on ice.

So... I started reading this thread hoping to hear some good stories and as I expected; it devolved into "I am better than you in bad weather" or "you are being reckless".
That's the bad thing about these threads. I'm not reading stories
Bottom line: you only get paid if you deliver the load. And insurance money is a very expensive way to get paid
However you do that is fine
Everyone stay safe out there to the best of your abilities
I want to reach retirement age to see if it's all it's cracked up to be

True North American truck driver that is sitting in ca. not driving anything and not making any money. All because your company told you how to secure their frieght on their trailer behind their truck. I thought you were just an overconfident know it all. Turns out your a fool too.

Your failing to mention the leaving me sitting for 6 days without pay and then calling me a liar. Risers are not freight and what can i tell ya. I'm a man of many talents :). I got enough cash to sit out until next summer if i want to and spend the holidays with my family instead of sitting in a truck stop alone like last thanksgiving i spent in Forsyth,MT at -20 trying to fix a coolant line. I'm getting bored after only 6 days at home though LOL. I'll be back at it causing mayhem and taking my 30 minute break in the snow covered median in no time at all thinking why didn't i listen to that guy from FL about how to drive in the northern plains during the winter!!!!

P.S Wouldn't a fool be classified as an overconfident know it all making your statement just a touch redundant?

I read explanation of why you quit in your other thread and it seems to me that if you didn't mouth off to the other drivers trainer he probably woudn't have called and reported you to the company. and as for the 6 days sitting thats on you. You stated your self that you should have stopped at the mom and pop scale. Lastly you FOOLISHLY made the choice to drive for that company that pays crap. I probably made more my first year when I drove for TMC without blowing anyones doors off and was home every weekend and Thanksgiving. You are in the situation your in because of YOU. When you can accept this fact you will be moving in the right direction. Good luck with your job search and have a good holiday.
