COPG (clutch over planetary gear) starters are available for any truck. Newer have neodymium magnets and no armature. They are more efficient.

For heavy trucks I'd recomend Bosch ore Delco-Remy, other, like Mitsubishi ore Denso got no so good parts avalability. The most popular is MT44.

Our drivers build very cheap gas APU from used small scooter engines. I saw small 125 cc suzuki engine (water cooled, 4 stroke, fuel injected, singel cylinder) mounted in small welded frame with separated electric systems. One alternator charges small 44 amp battery, other - belt driven - charges truck. Cooling system is integrated to truck. good setup

I was pretty excited about getting a new gear reduction motor that is supposed to work miracles and spit out money. Then I popped my hood and noticed the truck has had an MT39 since before I bought it.
