I always carry a small duffel bag with me. Change of clothes, toiletries, other odds and ends I don't need daily but use often enough to keep on hand. Lysol wipes for when the last person to drive the truck was a pig. I slip seat, and it can be a pain, but it only takes once having to lay over without it to realize it's worth the effort.
Wintertime I add an extra sweatshirt or two, bottles of water, some snacks. Also a lighter, a big fat candle, and a little metal pail to contain it. My truck gelled up in -20 weather a few years ago and stranded me in the middle of nowhere with no heat. Wrecker was hours away because everyone was having the same problem. That candle kept the cab warm enough that while I wasn't exactly toasty warm, I wasn't going to freeze even with a window cracked for fresh air. Just be careful to not set yourself on fire and create a new set of problems.

I always carried thermal blankets with me , never actually needed them, but our old tractors always broke down so I was prepared in the middle of nowhere.I always had one of those Elmer Fudd hats too, NO ONE ever seen me wear it, but it was there Hahahahaha !

Dangit. I keep forgetting about stuff I have in the cab with me...
I also keep a wool blanket stashed behind the passenger seat.
I have the only truck in our daycab fleet (we also have two sleepers) that has an air ride passenger seat. Great for when I'm training, or when someone is riding with me, but it does have the drawback of eliminating valuable storage space for all my winter stuff.
Obviously, my chains are hung on the racks, but we rely heavily on our Autosocks because they are good in most applications and very easy to put on. And that's where the drawback is compounded: we store those in the cab in a tote. It's a good thing we suspend our rider program in the winter, because there's no room on the passenger side!
